Kevin Mckenzie

Kevin is a young Aboriginal leader who manages, mentors and advocates for a young Aboriginal team working in youth suicide prevention and life promotion across the Kimberley (ALIVEandKicking Goals!). Kevin, like all this team, has tragic lived experience in his chosen field of work, losing a brother, cousins and many friends to suicide over the years. Despite the inevitable re-traumatisation of his work, he is absolutely committed to the staff, clients and outcomes of this crucial program. Kevin displays exceptional integrity, passion and investment and has achieved outstanding results in developing his team, supporting their growth, and ensuring the effectiveness of the team and program. Kevin is highly respected in the sector and was recently featured in the Closing the Gap 2021 report.
