Nina Laitala

Nina works tirelessly to amplify the voices of Victorian students and support them to advocate for the changes they want in education. Nina balances mentoring the Student Executive Advisory Committee to govern VicSRC and lead advocacy alongside an adult Board of Trustees and managing a small but dynamic staff team. Her collaborative leadership approach, especially with school students, has seen the development of innovative programs such as Teach the Teacher Ignite. Nina's time at VicSRC has seen some of its biggest advocacy wins occur and supported the small, student-led organisation become an influential, independent peak body in Victorian education.
